Day 2 of “wild” camping in Germany brought us to the first stage of the Albstieg in Donauwörth.

Lots of Easter decorations along the little creek we walked for a while. Lots of churches and roads named after Abbots.

I miss the Llamas, alpacas and guanacos of South America. But I guess I am not alone, someone brought them up here! Guy wouldn’t take his head outta the grass for a Photo.

With all the shelters, tables and benches everywhere in forests and hiking paths in Germany, this is the very first time it worked out exactly to have one where we wanted to do lunch. And what a great one, even with a girlie calendar.

Lots of sunshine and blooming trees later, and we made it back to our fortress.

The next morning we took off to Böpfingen to start our hikes from there. Easter Sunday, but we found a baker open for breakfast and a taxi. All good for the day.

Where Germany is lacking in glaciers and waterfalls (but apparently not llamas) they make up in churches, beer gardens and fortresses.

We went to Nördlingen for the evening. An evil parking lot filled to the brim with campers, did not look fun or anything close, but why were so many people doing it? We just went into town for dinner and drinks all the cars have Nö license plates. I wonder if they find that as funny as I do
No pictures of our final camping spot, which was really nice and near a hunters restaurant. Next time I’ll eat there!
And that’s it for Easter Weekend. Struggled to find a cafe on Easter Monday open (Heidenheim, what’s up?). Back at home and ready to go in a few more weeks! Stay tuned!
