Half of Albania was “shitet”, and more than half of that truly was. We saw it a billion times but unfortunately never stopped to point and laugh and take a picture.

For Montenegro and Albania we had no data, so have been using the Mercedes navigation. Should be top of the line right? On today’s voyage I finally noticed that it has been navigating me off the main road through every crap town and super tight streets.

Today I took an insanely adventurous mountain road right next to the main highway for many an hour till the lunch break at a super fake luxury mansion hotel, we had lunch.

Upon reaching Berat instead of going straight to the campsite on a major road, we went through the backstreets of a town where I got stuck and had to do the entire thing again in reverse. Luckily the people are friendly and help you while laughing at you for taking these streets meant for a bicycle in such a large vehicle.

We took the buggy to the old town which proved very physically challenging and eventually not worth it, but we are learning. Who knows, maybe it would have been well paved. Had a lovely dinner in the old town then planned for the castle in the morning.

Heading North for the border, we get stuck in the same traffic but this time decide to stop and watch the traffic sit still.

And finally make it to an Aussie camping on the border. No idea why it was Australian.

And that was Albania! I recommend the country, good times, good people, good prices. We don’t know where to go next, but we will find out!
the leafs clinched a playoff spot .. that is not shitet
