Astrid Lindgrens Värld

She invented Pipi Longstockings. And of course, this has a massive theme park.

Jolly Swedish Fun!

Started the morning with a hike in the forest. Got to use the Kraxe again.

That thing now weighs a lot.

Then going back to find a bakery.

The Danish Wienerbröd was stored in a different container as the Swedish Wienerbröd. Apparently danish and Swedish wieners don’t mix.

And then a straight shot to Astrid’s World. This place was actually a perfect hit. Lots of small theater plays and small for us big for Freya play houses. Worked out perfect for her.

Forest Gump mini scene.
I don’t fit in most hotels anyways

Tons of tiny houses and stories and non stop stuff for her to play with that was all perfect. Could barely walk a step without being sidetracked to the next distraction.

School?
Thugging at the corner
Luckily we couldn’t buy the sheep.
Typical bank, always closed.
Enjoying the Mattis show (I understood nothing, was very dramatic)
At the end a Pipi specific show. Was highly energetic and entertaining!
Finally, a table my size

That entire house was cool, everything mega oversized. Was filled with older kids going on a rampage, so hopefully next time.

Riding the horses

At the end there was a balance area where Freya had a great time. And then the horses, one of each letter. Freya had to ride every single one. Was great, took an hour.

They polka dotted the poor horse (two of them) for pipi.

All the plays were in Swedish. But was easy to understand. The language hasn’t changed much over the past thousand years. Pillage rape burn plunder Volvo sugar sweets. Easy to follow stories.

Guess we took no pictures of the plays. Better that way.

And then we spent the night there.

Next morning we figured out this park is in a pure industrial area and all the bakers were closed cause of Sunday and or holiday. We did get some groceries and supplies, and Freya got some ice cream.

Linköping

Next stop was Gamla Linköping, an open air museum with a supposed old Swedish city.

Everything was very new and every museum was a Chinese import store with a big sign accepting all credit cards.

Admiral Akbar: It’s a trap!
Freya at the… Detective House / museum. It was a gift shop.

Good news is we made the best out of it. And found out Freya is clairvoyant. While playing on a tractor/train she kept saying she wanted to ride the choo choo.

Looking into the future.

We didn’t understand anything. Till about 2 minutes later our 2nd Train of Sweden drove up. Booked it immediately.

Choooooo choooooo
It’s a Dotto mode. Can’t go wrong.

That was about it. Luckily the train went past a huge playground which we then went to when the ride was over.

Headed to a bird watchers forest for the overnighter. Mostly cyclists. Make sense?

Lots of water, lots of cows. Luckily little to no mosquitos!

Up next, visiting Nad and Stockholm in a camper van.

Bonus

If you made it this far, I forgot this video of Freya missing the massive beast.
