Helsingborg the Finale

Last Swedish stop, Helsingborg. This little town was a great little coastal gem.

Doesn’t look to special but it definitely is!

First stop in Helsingborg is the Tropikariet. This is a small but fabulous tropical creature building. Right off the bat there are ants crawling all over the welcome sign, but they are organized and on a mission. They have tubes going through the place, who knows probably a kilometer of walking, between their leaves and nest.

Here is the end of the tube to the leaves, where they gotta walk allllllllllll the way back. Impressive.
The Lemurs are outside… for now.
With the Lemurs outside the birds can all line up and stare point blank at the wall.

2nd floor had the nocturnal exhibit. Damn bats kept flying at my face. No flash photography but I managed to actually see one.

As long as they don’t poop on me.
I forget the names of these things but this baby was only a few months old and attached to mama as she jumped around.
Some turtles with a tube for Freya to crawl in for a closer look.

Next rooms had spiders which gave me the creepie crawlers for the rest of the place. I had to keep checking the ceiling to make sure one wasn’t up there. What do they do when these things (or others) get loose?

3rd floor some more creatures I wish I never saw then…

Dig site for dinosaur bones. Freya likes to cover them back up.
Super long neck not safe. Maybe helpful.
I remember as a kid my brother had one of these that got loose in the house.
Cuddling with myself.

Then down to the basement. Didn’t know it was there!

Tiny alligator and turtle. Later only alligator. (Maybe crocodile)
Sharks.
Skin sucking fish (it tickles)
Fingernail cleaning shrimp. Workshops need these.

And then on our way out, a Quick Look to see…

The lemurs are inside.
One jumped on Michele and Freya. Luckily, no one panicked.

Then off to a random parking lot and a walk into the town to find a fisherman bar that yesterday could have been an Irish pub.

They gave us the shortest table.

A very very windy night later, we woke up, back to town for some breakfast.

They got a big cube. Can’t the invading armies just walk around it?
Cool town gate. Elevator cost 22 Krone.

Had a great last breakfast. One of each with the Bullars (Cardamon, Cinnamon, nut?). Some good coffee then off to the historical stuff.

View of the manor.
Too many options.
How the rich people live.
How the rich lived a couple hundred years earlier.
I was 1 meter too tall for all these houses.
IKEA Development labs.
Some final balancing…

And that’s it! Gonna take a few days but we start the drive home. Sweden was fun. Can’t wait till next time!

Goodbye Sweden!
