Ever wonder where the end is on a sphere? I know!

King Penguins
Before we get to the end though, we had the most bestest ever coordinated ferry ride across over to even more penguins. Where glaciers and waterfalls were the daily dose before, penguins are now on the regular basis. Unfortunately i still don’t know how they taste.

The King penguins are different because of the yellow colors and of course they are much bigger. Problem is we were so far away and these things didn’t move a centimeter, I’m pretty sure they are made outta cardboard and we got ripped off. So carry on another 400km and to Ushuaia we go!
Ushuaia / Tierra del Fuego National Park
After a quick stop in a Carrefour, we went to the National Park for some camping. Pretty place, really green. You hear end of the world and you are thinking ice and glaciers, but was really more of a jungle and marsh, it’s not as far south as you think.

If Sebastian is the Schwein Steiger than I am the Guanaco Steiger. We went up the Guanaco mountain at the end of the world to the top. Intense climb, only 4km in length but each km took over an hour, pretty much straight up. Half way had to walk through a peatbog, almost sunk.

The Power of Marketing
So there are kinda two ends of the world, one which is in Ushuaia and easy for tourists to reach…

And the other end in the National Park where Route 3 ends. Busses come here in masses for people to come and take a picture, all day long one bus after another.

Where of course you can walk even further, now dubbed “beyond the end…”

But of course, there is another town across the channel, just costs a lot to get there. And of course, there are even more towns further south, just a question of how easy to reach. It’s like the people that tell me they have been to Chicago and I ask how was it for them to reply, “oh, I only transferred at the airport.” Total d-bags. Well, now I’ve been to the end of the world… but just the sign.
The drive back was nice, just like the drive there changing scenery every 30 minutes. So many tour groups stopping to take pictures, we tried a few then realized once again, the pictures of anything just lessened the beauty of the landscape.

Up next. Route 3 and never ending Penguins!
Nice toque buddy!
