Swingin’ in Sweden

First and foremost, apologies to the readers, Norway and Oslo for the false negative vibes of the last post, we had a great time, beautiful countryside and city and most importantly looking forward to next years Norway trip replacing the lakes of Sweden with the F-Jords of Norway. Oslo, you put the R in Norway! Really, we had a good time and it is highly recommendable.

Memories of South America coming back alive! We (Hubi included) missed the dirt roads.

So after leaving our spot at La Hell (yes, I know hell isn’t Spanish, could easily turn that around and say it’s German The Light considering my ability with der die and das, I should just start using el and la 🤠). Anyways, after leaving it was a bit too early for bakeries on the outskirts of Oslo and the country side, the cafes on Sunday don’t open up until late afternoon for Fika. That’s right. Afternoon Fiken. Delicious!

So we took a lovely back road dirt road to cross the boarder, no illegal smuggling of… uhhh… what would a norwiegen smuggle into Sweden? It was great, reminded us of South America.

The border was heavily guarded by pine trees marked by ikea. is that a Reich’s Grenze???

And then it was a nice short day to a few full campsites till we found one we liked (I really needed a shower).

It’s all good till the family with 8 kids shows up. Man people must have hated us.

The camp had a “ruin” above it. Inside joke between Michelle and myself and all the ruins and old buildings we have seen, we just call them stones. and a lovely walk around the lake.

Some stones they say are from the late Iron Age. Could also have been some hippies from the 70s.
For Rent: Top Lage im Stuttgart Nord! ÖPNV!
The transport came with really wet (and warm, ewwww) hand shoes for the rope.

Next morning was our first day of rainy weather which worked out perfect. After a rest stop make our own breakfast, we hit up a cafe to wait the rain out. Great!

More Bullar and more damn good coffee. Michelle’s has a heart, mine has a butt.

Was once again thinking of trying every Bullar they had, but my stomach informed me not today. Bummer.

Then some more dirt roads till we found a great isolated camping spot. Ok, it wasn’t isolated, but we did what the Germans always do to us, park so damn close till the other feel invaded and leave. So there was a German van there and I tried to park inside the thing and boom! We have our own campsite 😀 really really wish we had a SUP or other inflatable here. Next time 🙂

Everything one needs
Hammock action! This things great, awesome 15€ investment.
Been a while since I’ve made a fire. Didn’t use any pre cut wood, gathered my own. Went easy 🙂
A little promo for our new travel bbq.

Then after breakfast, our final morning till our canoe trip. So what did we do?

I think I’m turning into one of those Foodist Posters. On the other hand, the Bullar up here are just insanely good, and the coffee as well. How will I ever be able to drink from the office Shittinger again?

The green one was extra new, unique and delicious. Wonder what it was.

Next up, back on the Canoe! I hope the Food supply comes with Kanelbullar.

  1. I need a hammock, too. Where did you get it?
Was it maybe pistachio filling in the green bullar? I hope it wasn’t spinach. Hmm, I will have to take a look in the fridge now to see whether we have something sweet left with my pot of schittinger…
    And:
If I could offer you only one tip for the future, sunscreen would be it
the long-term benefits of sunscreen have been proved by scientists.
