The Volvo El Camino

A little break from our Vildmarksvägen to educate our readers and give respect to the Swedish youth. Pictures for this post have been borrowed from google as I don’t go up to someone’s car to laugh at it and take a picture.

So you are 15, in Sweden, bored. Thinking jealous thoughts of Americans cause they can drive at 16? Of course not, you’re gonna make a tractor.

The youth take a car, really any car but it’s sweden so they start with an old box Volvo, you know the type. Make it a 2 seater pickup truck (which I find awesome as a fan of the el Camino, even the Polo’s that are pickup truck style). Add an insane amount of speakers without an amplifier (ok, not required by law but mandatory as youth, I did the same), and modify the transmission so max speed is 30kmh. Put a triangle on the back, you’re done, that’s it!

So of course you get the people that take it to the next level and make them ultra dope, also the wealthy that do it to a Porsche (hey, already has two seats!)

Saw a lot of these things deep in the country side, and while it sucked with the long line of cars they made, still absolutely great for the youth, and they have style!
