Go go go Montenegro

Our all first time in Montenegro! Boban homeland! Your EU data roaming plan does not work here. Let’s explore!

Just keeps getting better.

The first chunk of coast felt nearly identical to Croatia, just a tick different. First stop was a ferry to cross the bay of Kotor. The park4night all said the road to the camp ground was adventurous. No problem for a guy with South American experience. Nope… that was insanely adventurous. A one lane road but direct ocean on one side and stone wall on the other, not a cm of place. And two way traffic. Wow, I was soaked in sweat after 1km.

Looks more spacious than it is.
Wow crappy picture. Looked great when I took it.

As with the trip up until now, everything closed. We found a hotel that we walked to about an hour away, had some drinks.

Montenegrins beer!

Campsite was nice. Two friendly Brit families was there. Owner was cool.

Next day on the suicide road the goal was to follow the bus that does it at 100kmh. Then started the windy coastal run on Montenegro. They all drive much much slower here. I recommend doing the same.

Bench chill action.

We stopped at another old castle town, Budwa, for lunch. Worked out great, could park right there and no cruise ship so was just a giant string of cafes for women and their babies. Worked great for us.

Impossible picture in main season.
Nice flat stones. Great for the buggy
Happy entrance.
The hoop on a medieval castle wall in Montenegro is nicer than our hall that we pay for in Germany.

Place was nice, cozy, easy, clean. Everything good. Good times. A friendly lunch, and away we go.

It’s cool, I have a job.

Made it to our first campground where two were open, and they compete to wave you in. One is the promised land, the other fire and brimstone. Which to take?

After an always hospitality campsite owner driving us to the next town for dinner, a pile of meat on a plate, the next morning we think of what to do, chat up a Finnish couple, and make our plan.

We wanted to see the national parks and inland of Montenegro, but it was still negative temperature at nights there, so let’s check out Albania!
